Overview
An 6mm nominal expandable braided sleeving is a flexible, open-weave tubular jacket used to protect, clean up, and bundle tight groups of small electronics wires, automotive lines, or custom PC system cables. Operating like a “Chinese finger trap,” pushing the woven ends together expands the inner diameter to slide past larger adapter heads, while pulling the run taut shrinks the weave to hug the underlying cables tightly
Specifications
Nominal Size (Flat Width): 6mm (~1/4 inch).Minimum Cable Bundle Diameter: 3mm to 4mm. Contracts down to this range to firmly grip thin wires without slipping. Maximum Expanded Diameter: 10mm to 12mm. Stretches wide to pass over inline terminal pins and small connectors. Weave Configuration: Standard 3-strand or 4-strand alternating braid matrix.
Key features
Dynamic Stretch Window: Squeezes tightly onto 3mm to 4mm minimum runs, but expands radially up to 10mm to 12mm.Passes Internal Pins: Stretches easily over small pre-terminated terminal rings, fan plugs, or USB headers, then snaps securely back onto the thin wire trail behind them. Anti-Chafe Protection: Tough monofilament construction absorbs mechanical friction, preventing metal chassis stampings or panels from rubbing through insulation. Low-Profile Routing: Adds minimal weight and zero bulk to tight configurations, snaking around sharp curves without kinking or buckling
