Overview
The 76 Series is exclusively the 4-door Station Wagon/SUV body shape. The Single Cab utility/bakkie belongs strictly to the 79 Series family. However, because they both share the exact same front cabin architecture and front doors, front door pods designed for a 76 Series Wagon are identical to those built for a 79 Series Single Cab.
Specifications
Built to accept standard 6.5-inch (165mm) round speakers or larger 6×9-inch oval speakers. Door Clearance: Engineered to clear the dashboard and seats when the doors are completely closed. Installation Depth: Provides extra depth so heavy speaker magnets clear the internal window glass mechanism.
Key features
Acoustic Upgrades: Replaces the poor factory audio layout by angling speakers upward toward the cabin. Sound Isolation: Acts as an acoustic baffle to prevent muddy sound cancellation inside hollow metal doors. Cabin Utility: Adds crucial built-in map pockets and deep bottle holders to an otherwise storage-starved cabin. Depth Constraints: The rear window glass drops down directly behind the speaker mounting location. Rear pods must provide at least 45mm to 65mm of external spacer depth so the speaker magnet does not crush or scratch the glass.
